Not Your Traditional 2017 Easter Look

I'm so ready for Easter! It's such a fun and special holiday. Every year my church does a luncheon and later that evening my mom will make a feast with all of our favorite dishes. (And yes, I'm a foodie who gets excited about eating.)

This Easter I plan on keeping it modern and simple. I'm so over the traditional Easter dress, so I plan on wearing these cute silk cigarette pants and a fitted pink top. I wish you guys could feel how amazing this top feels. This fabric has a nice texture and stretch that hugs the body just right. Even though my pant outfit isn't very traditional for Easter, I did stay within traditional colors.

Not only could you wear this look to your Easter festivities, but also to work or lunch/dinner with your girlfriends. I love this outfit, it's refreshing and a perfect modern Spring look!

Ripped Jeans and a Silk Top

This top is clearly my favorite since it's on repeat on the blog. It's definitely more versatile than you'd think, so I wanted to show a more casual way of wearing it, since leather skirts aren't everyone's thing. I’ve had this silk blouse for a while now, but I really love wearing it! I got it this past summer in LA, but found out that it’s actually a great piece for any season.

You know ripped jeans are my favorite, and this pair of Jamie's from Top Shop  are my most comfortable jeans I own, so I had to pair them with this top. For this look I rolled the hem of my jeans to show a little more of the nude sandal heel.

It was a sunny but chilly day so I wore Ray Ban sunglasses and an oversized grey cardigan to keep me warm. Not only did it keep me warm, but it made my outfit so much cuter because it gave it a more effortlessly chic lookIf you want to make this outfit more casual but still chic, switch the heels to a fun pair of sneakers or slides.

Thank you Justin for these awesome shots!

Grace Beraki x Dashingly Turnham

I'm so excited to finally share this collab. with you guys!
John Paul Turnham, who is a fashion and lifestyle blogger as well as a long time friend, asked if he could feature me on his blog, Dashingly Turnham, so of course I instantly said yes!

He told me to dress myself in something true to my style, but to also make a "fashment," as JP calls it. So of course I threw on a silk top, a flirty leather skirt, a pair of greyish nude boots that have a pink glass heel, and my favorite sun glasses. I also left my hair naturally curly for this look.

I had so much fun collaborating with JP and his awesome photographer, Jayare
You'll definitely want to head over to Dashingly Turnham where JP features and briefly interviews me asking me 3 interesting questions (some that I had never even thought of).

FUN FACT: John Paul and I met in elementary school. Kindergarten I believe!

Below is a direct link to check out my feature on Dashingly Turnham's page and where you can check out our brief interview.

Winter to Spring Transitional Look

The transitional period between winter and spring can be confusing, because your mind is thinking yess, spring vibes but the weather outside is saying not today, especially in Texas. One day it's  a beautiful day in March and the next it's freaking cold outside.

Since today was pretty chilly, I focused on layering a couple of lighter articles with a biker jacket. I wore a black dress with a sheer high-low blouse on top, and thigh high boots (because I'm trying to get this last wear before spring!)

The key to a transitional look is to have some classic, timeless pieces (like this little black dress and biker jacket) and then add in a few trendy items that speak to you and your personal style. For me it was these cute shades, thigh high boots and a cross body bag. Combining “of the moment” pieces into your wardrobe will help you stay current and modern when moving into spring without looking like a fashion victim.

When in doubt, just remember to lighten and layer!

My favorite sunnies! This shade of pink is perfect for spring.

How to Dress Up a Simple White T-Shirt

Is there anything more classic than a white tee? Simple, clean, and easy. It really is the perfect wardrobe staple. A white tee isn’t like any trendy item that might seem cute this season, but end up in the “goes with nothing” pile in a few months.  It’s instead a great option for a quick and effortless look upgrade, no matter who you are.

If you need to run out somewhere and need a polished look, The easiest solution is to throw on a great blazer or leather jacket, like I did here. The jacket allows your white tee to peak through as a perfect, classic base for your outfit. I can wear this to just about any occasion from a lunch date, to a night out with friends.
(Side note: There’s never been a better time to invest in a leather jacket now that spring is right around the corner. A lot of these jackets are going on sale everywhere!)

I love wearing heels when I’m sporting something so loose, like this shirt, so I don’t look frumpy. This time I wore my favorite thigh high boots to balance out the sporty look and still keep it girlie.  After all, this feminine shoe is instantly cooler when toughened up with a bandana scarf and leather jacket.

To top off this street style ensemble, I included this cross body bag with chain detail to complement the look.
