  Braids and Bandanas

Hey y'all! I'm re-introducing the bandana since the accessory is far from being the new kid on the block. We've seen it in the 90s, on motorcycle gangs, punk rockers, and rock n’ roll icons, and American Western Cowboys. Today it's worn as a cute scarf.

My braids, bandanna scarf, and distressed denim pants definitely give off that western vibe, which I'm normally not into, but I loved these pieces together so much. I decided to add more modern pieces-a backless striped bodysuit, leather gold and chain belt, bucket bag, and these funky sandals to the outfit.

This is a perfect outfit to wear to a concert, festival or even just a casual day out like I wore here.

I usually don't wear anything backless but this knit body suit is so soft and comfy!

I love when Rob gets these candid shots.

This has nothing to do with this post, but I just wanted to share something that has really encouraged me, and that is to know that where you are right now is where you're supposed to be to get you to where you're going to be. I used to find myself stressing out about what school I should go to, where I should be in life, etc. It's funny because everything I wanted and the things I had planned for, life was like na, but it turns out that I'm happier where I am now than where I thought I wanted to be. I hope this encourages you wherever you are today.

An Achromatic Evening

Happy Monday everybody! I am so excited to have a fresh start this week, mostly because I feel like I am going to be extremely productive and I have some exciting things going on that I will share with you all on the blog very soon.

I recently spent a few days in ATL for a wedding, and my favorite outfit I wore that week was a body hugging grey dress and long black duster I sported for an evening out with family and friends.

I love wearing this sleeveless midi dress as a single piece, but this time I wanted to relax the outfit by layering a black duster on top. Duster coats are great to own because they always make your outfit appear more chic than it really is, you can throw it on top of almost anything. I especially love this duster because it's different from most, since it is a short sleeve. Rarely do you see it in a short sleeve, it's almost always seen sleeveless or with long sleeves.

To complete my look I wore a strappy heel from Zara, and a cute black hand bag that fit the aesthetic. This is a perfect achromatic outfit to wear to dinner, a fashion business meeting, or for a night out with good friends!

I love the gold detailing on this bag and the fact that I can fit literally anything inside of it.

Birthday Outfit - Designed by Me

Woke up feeling extremely blessed! Last night, my friend Tori threw me a surprise birthday dinner at Terilli's with a few of my close friends and got me some of my favorite goodies. My actual birthday is today, so this morning my family surprised me with breakfast in bed! I also had a green tea and lemon cake along with my breakfast.

I decided to design my outfit for my birthday, so I made this silk dress and diamond choker necklace. I've wanted a silk dress for a while now, but I could never find one that fit properly. Every silk dress I have tried on was not flattering on my body, so I decided to make my own! I really wanted a silky, soft, and dainty look, which I feel I've achieved with this design. I originally made this dress just a few hours before a fashion show that I was attending Saturday, but I decided to wear it to my birthday instead because I thought it'd make my birthday more personal.

To top off the look I wore a diamond choker to give my outfit a little more glam. I really enjoyed making the choker, I love-making jewelry! For my shoes, I wore a strappy open toe sandal that had a clear glass heel, don't worry it wasn't real glass!

I'm having such a great birthday! Thank you for all the happy wishes, I can't wait to see where this lovely day takes me! Thank you Rob Phillips for these awesome shots!

I got a hair cut this weekend, a little more than I asked for, and the shrinkage is so real! Can you tell?

Happy Labor Day Attire

Happy Labor Day!
I've spent my morning at a meeting downtown, and now I'm headed to lunch in this blue off the shoulder top and this cute wide leg pant, both from Zara! I'm still sad I bought these pieces (along with other items) on full price right before they had their big sale, but my top is so cute and I love the fabric. At the time I purchased this blouse, I really wanted an off the shoulder top like this and couldn't find one in Dallas that was not poor quality, so it was definitely worth it.

Technically we're at the end of summer so I decided to wear this fun pant that's perfect for transitioning in to fall. You may not be able to tell, but the flowers and print on the fabric look like they were painted on with watercolor, I doubt that they were but that's why I fell in love with these pants. I love the pop of colors on them and how comfy they are too! I completed this look with a pair of mules by Michael Antonio, a nude clutch, and gold dainty jewelry.

I hope you all have a fun and safe day in your Labor Day attire! Tag me and @ me in your Labor Day ootd for a chance to be featured on our Instagram!!
