An Achromatic Evening

Happy Monday everybody! I am so excited to have a fresh start this week, mostly because I feel like I am going to be extremely productive and I have some exciting things going on that I will share with you all on the blog very soon.

I recently spent a few days in ATL for a wedding, and my favorite outfit I wore that week was a body hugging grey dress and long black duster I sported for an evening out with family and friends.

I love wearing this sleeveless midi dress as a single piece, but this time I wanted to relax the outfit by layering a black duster on top. Duster coats are great to own because they always make your outfit appear more chic than it really is, you can throw it on top of almost anything. I especially love this duster because it's different from most, since it is a short sleeve. Rarely do you see it in a short sleeve, it's almost always seen sleeveless or with long sleeves.

To complete my look I wore a strappy heel from Zara, and a cute black hand bag that fit the aesthetic. This is a perfect achromatic outfit to wear to dinner, a fashion business meeting, or for a night out with good friends!

I love the gold detailing on this bag and the fact that I can fit literally anything inside of it.

Birthday Outfit - Designed by Me

Woke up feeling extremely blessed! Last night, my friend Tori threw me a surprise birthday dinner at Terilli's with a few of my close friends and got me some of my favorite goodies. My actual birthday is today, so this morning my family surprised me with breakfast in bed! I also had a green tea and lemon cake along with my breakfast.

I decided to design my outfit for my birthday, so I made this silk dress and diamond choker necklace. I've wanted a silk dress for a while now, but I could never find one that fit properly. Every silk dress I have tried on was not flattering on my body, so I decided to make my own! I really wanted a silky, soft, and dainty look, which I feel I've achieved with this design. I originally made this dress just a few hours before a fashion show that I was attending Saturday, but I decided to wear it to my birthday instead because I thought it'd make my birthday more personal.

To top off the look I wore a diamond choker to give my outfit a little more glam. I really enjoyed making the choker, I love-making jewelry! For my shoes, I wore a strappy open toe sandal that had a clear glass heel, don't worry it wasn't real glass!

I'm having such a great birthday! Thank you for all the happy wishes, I can't wait to see where this lovely day takes me! Thank you Rob Phillips for these awesome shots!

I got a hair cut this weekend, a little more than I asked for, and the shrinkage is so real! Can you tell?

Happy Labor Day Attire

Happy Labor Day!
I've spent my morning at a meeting downtown, and now I'm headed to lunch in this blue off the shoulder top and this cute wide leg pant, both from Zara! I'm still sad I bought these pieces (along with other items) on full price right before they had their big sale, but my top is so cute and I love the fabric. At the time I purchased this blouse, I really wanted an off the shoulder top like this and couldn't find one in Dallas that was not poor quality, so it was definitely worth it.

Technically we're at the end of summer so I decided to wear this fun pant that's perfect for transitioning in to fall. You may not be able to tell, but the flowers and print on the fabric look like they were painted on with watercolor, I doubt that they were but that's why I fell in love with these pants. I love the pop of colors on them and how comfy they are too! I completed this look with a pair of mules by Michael Antonio, a nude clutch, and gold dainty jewelry.

I hope you all have a fun and safe day in your Labor Day attire! Tag me and @ me in your Labor Day ootd for a chance to be featured on our Instagram!!

Stripe Off the Shoulder Romper and Pretty Lashes

Cheesing because I'm in love with my new lashes Pretty With Me gave me! Anyone who really knows me knows that I love, love, love mink lashes, especially because they are superior in the sense that they have this really fluffy, natural look. The pair I got gave volume and length, but still looked natural like I wanted. Their lashes not only look great but are affordable too, anywhere from $25-30 (don't forget that you can get a few wears out of mink lashes).

DeAmber, MUA and owner of Pretty With Me, reached out to me to try her lashes and even came on set to do my makeup. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of worried at first because I'm really particular when it comes to other people doing my makeup, but DeAmber asked me what kind of glam I wanted and I told her a natural glowing look, and that's exactly what I got! I was so pleased with the outcome and everything this brand stands for.

The subtle makeup went perfectly with my bold black and white stripe romper. I've been really feeling the off the shoulder tops this season so I knew this romper would look great on me. My favorite part of this outfit is obviously showing off of the shoulders, and the vertical stripes because they create long lines that makes your legs look nice and long, giving you some height. Another thing I like is that I can just put on this single piece and I now have a whole outfit put together with very little effort, which is perfect for when you don't know what to wear and don't have enough time. This romper is so versatile because you can wear it to brunch, a party, or even somewhere casual with white sneakers or sandals.

Behind the scenes with my styling rack. Black and white vibes.

My lashes came in that cute little black bag, tied shut in a bow with black silk ribbon.

Curly Hair Meets August Streetstyle

Hey guys! I've been out of town so I haven't been able to post much while traveling. Sorry about that.
These photos are a little old, but I love this outfit so much I couldn't resist sharing!

If you couldn't already tell from previous posts, I love to mix dressy with sporty. For this look I took these casual sporty pieces and wore it with a pair of black mules for height and to give it a more dressier feel. My favorite thing about this Alexander Wang top is that it can be worn as a crop top with high-waisted denim pants or a skirt, or even as a sports bra.

I get asked what I do to my hair a lot, especially when it's curly. This was a wash and go day for me so I didn't have to do too much, but some days I have to put in more work than others.  Let me know if you want me to share my hair regimen. I know all about #curlyhairproblems and I'd love to help!

I was looking in a car window trying to fix my hair and these 3 photos were captured. Off guard pics are the best!
